What We Do
We provide shelter
Our Welcome Start Transitional Housing program offers transitional housing and comprehensive wrap-around assistance to vulnerable clients, ensuring they have safe and stable shelter as they seek settlement in our society. Those fleeing domestic and family violence are a focus, with our designated women’s refuge serving as a safe place for vulnerable women and their families to find support and opportunity through our various employment pathways.
We provide person-led support
Our caseworkers – trauma-informed and led by lived expertise – work with clients to develop case plans centered on their individual needs, and provide emergency assistance, where suitable, to support them through complicated processes and trying circumstances.
We create pathways
Working with our clients, we grow employment, training and qualification pathways around them, providing the opportunities for recognised experience and further employment in the Australian workforce. With stable and secure work, our clients can transition out of our housing program and support services, and approach the future with new confidence.
Work & Welcome
Our Work & Welcome program provides paid employment placements for refugees and asylum seekers at partner host organisations across Sydney. Some 93% of participants in the program have found permanent employment after their Work & Welcome placements.
We advocate
We campaign for change. Working first-hand with refugees and people seeking asylum, we understand that so much of their journey has been impacted by broken systems and uninformed policy. Our advocacy campaigns are targeted and built around authentic voices, driven by community leaders to influence policy and create systemic change.
We provide a recipe for change
